Dublin (the prison where women were sexually abused) was just shut down by Colette Peters in an attempt to obstruct a class action lawsuit case against the abusers. All the women were bussed across the country with little notice and horrible conditions. (Women weren’t allowed to use the restroom, couldn’t use feminine hygiene products, and were verbally abused.) She is perpetuating the systemic problems she’s saying she’s trying to fix.

Way to call out that feeling of responsibility. Many womyn feel that they need to "fix" and support and help...AND this is also caring and compassionate. WE DO need to help and support others AND take care of ourselves. This system we live in (Patriarchy) is BROKEN and damaging. We NEED each other. EACH generation that learns something NEW, can reach back and help those in older generations. WE will always injure as parents and people. And as we grow and learn we can help and support those that did not have this access. It is NOT black and white. We get sick in family , we heal in family. We get sick in community, we heal in family. WE each have gifts that need to be shares with each other. Of course children will help parents, as they learn. I was raised with 4 sisters and I felt very responsible to heal and help those in my family and others. There are MANY womyn leaders in this field. I also have studied Dr. Gabor Mate, and Dr. van der KOLK etc. There are many womyn that are also great leaders in this field that come from a WOMYN's perspective, because womyn ARE left out of studies and understandings. Like Dr. Carol Gilligan, Dr. Brene Brown, Dr. Valerie Rein "Patriarchy Stress Disorder", Byron Katie, neuroscientist Dr. Heather Berlin. So MANY womyn leaders, that still are NOT included. Such an important topic to keep being discussed. Patriarchy , the system we live in, is about hierarchy. It is about one-winner. It is about competition. It is about power. All divisive and disconnecting and pushing FAKE to try and fit it, to belong. Yet, as Dr. Carol Gilligan in the 1970's started to explain, if you are fake, and the other person is fake, you are having a fake relationship. NO connection. No authenticity. Patriarchy is the ROOT of this. We can go around and around, from this theory to that. Say it IS this, Say it is THAT and continue to talk around the very "system' that is being programmed, and has been for thousands of years, and NEVER get a path out. Collaboration, consideration, communication to understanding, calling out patriarchy, finding win-win solutions, sharing, caring, compassion. Because this old system is so damaging to mental and physical and spiritual health, as Sophie is calling out. Bravo for sharing Sophie. As I see it, too many people are so hooked on and obsessed with self-help mumbo jumbo, feelings, woe is me, they want a pity party, stop thinking for themselves. Everything is trauma this and that, woe is me, and using this stuff to excuse terrible behavior. Let's all remember those who survived the horrific abuse during the Holocaust, who went on to live happy, well-adjusted lives. Let me put it this way: I don't care what supposed trauma anyone has gone through. Commit crimes, hurt/harm humans and animals? Prison is waiting. Get the pity party and psychiatrist there.
